Fit For Trips, Inc. dba HikeStrong (“HikeStrong,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use the HikeStrong mobile applications, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

HikeStrong helps hikers and trekkers train for outdoor adventures by generating training plans, tracking workouts, and supporting community interaction.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways.

Information You Provide to Us

When you create an account or use the Services, we may collect:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Account login credentials

  • Age (if provided)

  • Profile information such as fitness level, hiking goals, or target trek

  • Messages, support inquiries, feedback, or survey responses

  • Photos, comments, posts, and other content you choose to upload or share within the Services

You are responsible for any information you choose to share through community features.

Workout and Training Information

To provide training and progress insights, we collect workout-related information such as:

  • Workouts you log

  • Distance, duration, and elevation gain/loss

  • Training progress and completion history

  • Participation in training plans

  • App-generated readiness indicators such as HikeStrong Index (HSI) scores

This information is used to generate training recommendations and insights within the app.

Location Information

If you enable location permissions, we may collect location information during workouts to support features such as:

  • route tracking

  • workout recording

  • map visualizations

You can disable location permissions in your device settings at any time. Some features may not function without location access.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Services, we may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:

  • approximate location derived from IP address

  • app usage activity

  • registration, trial-start, and subscription activity

Our advertising measurement helps us understand whether our ads lead to app installations, registrations, trials, or subscriptions. We do not collect your general browsing history or monitor your activity in unrelated apps or websites. Advertising platforms may record your interactions with HikeStrong advertisements.

  • provide training plans and workout tracking

  • personalize your experience

  • generate progress insights and readiness indicators

  • provide customer support

  • communicate with you about your account and the Services

  • improve, maintain, and secure the Services

  • measure advertising effectiveness, including understanding which campaigns lead to app installations, registrations, trials, and subscriptions

3. Community Features and Group Visibility

HikeStrong includes community features such as groups, comments, posts, and photo sharing. Information you choose to share in these areas may be visible to other users in the relevant group or community.

You can choose who can see your workouts: Everyone, People who follow me, or Only me. Group visibility and content shared within groups are governed by separate group settings.

If you participate in a trip group associated with a tour operator or guide, the operator may see aggregated group-level readiness or participation insights related to that trip.

Tour operators do not receive individual users’ personal training data or fitness metrics unless a user voluntarily shares such information through posts, comments, or other visible activity within the group.

4. How We Share Information

We may share information in the following circumstances.

Service Providers

We share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate the Services, such as:

  • cloud hosting providers

  • analytics providers

  • payment processors

  • customer support tools

  • infrastructure and security services

These providers may access information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf.

Advertising Measurement

We use advertising measurement providers to help determine which advertisements lead to app installations, registrations, trials, and subscriptions. Depending on your platform, permissions, and privacy settings, these providers may receive information about these events, app installation identifiers, and related technical information.

These providers may share event information with advertising platforms to support campaign measurement and optimization. Depending on our configuration and your privacy settings, this may include activity from users who installed HikeStrong through other sources or without clicking an advertisement.

Community Features

Information you choose to share through posts, comments, photos, or similar features may be visible to other users according to the settings and structure of the feature.

Business Transfers

If HikeStrong is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Account Information

You may update certain profile information through your account settings.

Location Permissions

You can enable or disable location permissions through your device settings, noting that some workout tracking features may not be available.

Workout Sharing

You can choose who can see your workouts: Everyone, People who follow me, or Only me. You can change this setting in the app.

Advertising Measurement and Tracking

On iOS, if you decline tracking, we do not send your HikeStrong user ID or purchase details with registration, trial-start, or subscription events to our advertising measurement provider. We also disable collection of Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA) and vendor identifier (IDFV) through that provider. These events are sent from the app with the provider’s anonymization feature enabled to support privacy-preserving advertising measurement through Apple’s SKAdNetwork.

On Android, you can manage available advertising privacy controls in your device settings. The controls available and their effects depend on your device and operating system.

Marketing Communications

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link included in those messages. You can enable or disable push notifications through your device settings.


Cookies and Similar Technologies

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.

6. Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

  • request access to the personal information we hold about you

  • request correction of inaccurate information

  • request deletion of your personal information

  • request a copy of certain personal information in a portable format
